ROLE PURPOSE
Own the reliability and maintenance of plant equipment, utilities and supporting infrastructure. The role will establish preventive and predictive maintenance discipline, lead breakdown response, control spares and contractors, and improve uptime while maintaining safe work practices and clear maintenance records.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTED OUTCOMES
• Create and execute preventive, predictive and statutory maintenance plans for mechanical, electrical and utility systems.
• Lead breakdown diagnosis and restoration, perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment history, checklists, downtime records, MTBF/MTTR data and maintenance dashboards through CMMS or disciplined trackers.
• Plan critical spares, consumables, tools, shutdowns and contractor support within approved budgets.
• Coordinate maintenance for pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, reaction/process equipment, utilities,



electrical panels and pollution-control systems.
• Enforce permit-to-work, LOTO, contractor safety, housekeeping and protected isolation practices during maintenance activity.
• Develop technicians, allocate work and report equipment risks, recurring failures and capital-replacement needs to management.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on industrial plant maintenance, including preventive and breakdown responsibility.
• Ability to coordinate mechanical and electrical maintenance teams and external contractors.
• Working knowledge of CMMS, spare-parts planning, RCA, utilities and industrial safety systems.
• Willingness to respond to plant breakdowns and work from the West Tambaram, Chennai facility.
