We are searching for a highly influential, backend-anchored Staff Engineer to drive the next generation of Clickstream, the platform that captures, models, and serves behavioral signal across every Intuit surface. Behavioral data is the foundation for personalization, experimentation, growth analytics, and AI-native experiences; the instrumentation layer that produces it must be correct, complete, and effortless for hundreds of product teams to adopt.

You will own the backend-side capture experience end to end: the high-volume pipelines and streaming services, the event taxonomy that gives that data meaning,



and the contract between upstream clients and the high-volume pipelines that move events downstream. This is a deep backend role focused on scaling distributed architecture, stream processing, and server-side data infrastructure. Getting that foundation right is the job.

Responsibilities

Drives the technical direction of a backend platform and the distributed services, pipelines, and developer-facing APIs that hundreds of product teams build on.
Owns the architecture of complex, highly scalable backend systems, data pipelines, streaming architectures, and microservices - making them easy to adopt, hard to misuse, and protected to evolve.
Sets the bar for backend craft: performance, scalability, reliability, data consistency, and maintainability of platform services that power core business capabilities.
Designs robust backend APIs and ingestion contracts that integrate cleanly with downstream data engines - owning how the backend processes, validates, and serves high-thr
