Job Summary

The role should have solid exposure to engineering items such as castings, forgings, machined components, fasteners, gaskets, seals, PTFE parts, SS/MS materials, valves and fittings. These responsibilities are consistent with current manufacturing and valve-industry procurement roles.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day purchase and procurement activities based on production and material requirements.
- Source raw materials, bought-out components and engineering items from approved and new vendors.
- Develop and maintain a strong vendor/supplier network.
- Float RFQs, obtain quotations and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate price, quality, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure correct specifications, quantities and delivery dates.
- Regularly follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality and Accounts departments.
- Procure items such as:
- SS / MS / Carbon Steel materials
- Castings & forgings
- Machined components




- Fasteners
- Valve accessories
- Pipes & fittings
- Bearings and other engineering consumables
- Identify alternate vendors for critical and regular materials.
- Monitor material prices and market trends to achieve cost savings.
- Resolve issues related to short supply, rejection, quality, delayed delivery and price discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor records, quotations, POs and purchase documentation.
- Coordinate with Stores for GRN, material receipt and inspection.
- Verify supplier invoices against PO and GRN and coordinate with Accounts for discrepancies.
- Prepare purchase MIS reports, pending PO reports and vendor performance reports.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, GST and required documentation.

Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering or B.Com/Graduate with relevant purchase experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in Purchase/P
