Build and run hydrologic and hydraulic models to study storm water runoff and system performance.
- Design infrastructure: Design drainage networks, culverts, detention/retention ponds, and green stormwater systems.
- Prepare documents: Write technical reports, assemble plan profiles, and calculate material quantities.
- Ensure compliance: Follow local environmental rules, zoning codes, and global engineering standards.
- Coordinate projects: Work with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and municipal authorities for project approvals.
- Core knowledge:Strong grasp of fluid mechanics, open-channel flow, urban hydrology, and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)
- Water Management & Planning: Assessing water availability, demand, and developing long-term strategies for supply, conservation, and distribution.
- System Design: Creating plans for water supply networks, treatment plants, dams, reservoirs, levees, and stormwater/drainage systems.
- Hydrological Modeling: Using software to simulate water flow, predict flood risks, and analyze impacts on water quantity and quality.




- Environmental Protection: Designing solutions to prevent groundwater contamination, manage wastewater, and restore ecosystems.
- Project Management: Overseeing the construction and maintenance of water infrastructure, ensuring projects meet budgets and regulations.
- Education: Civil or Environmental Engineering degree.
- Software expertise: Proficiency in tools like StormCAD, PCSwim, SewerGEMS, Water GEMSHEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Q-GIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D or GIS.
- Technical Skills: Hydraulic & hydrologic modeling, CAD, data analysis.:
- Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, teamwork.:
