ob Title: Librarian

Experience Required: 3-5 years

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cataloguing, classification, and indexing of books, journals, and e-resources
- Handle circulation activities — issue, return, renewal, and reservation of library materials using KOHA
- Maintain and update the library database/OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)
- Assist faculty and students in locating resources, research materials, and reference services
- Manage subscriptions to journals, periodicals, and databases (print and digital)
- Oversee acquisition and procurement of new books and study materials as per curriculum needs
- Maintain accession registers and stock verification records
- Ensure proper shelving, arrangement, and maintenance of library collections
- Generate reports on library usage, inventory, and circulation statistics through KOHA
- Coordinate with vendors/publishers for book procurement and renewals
- Promote library resources and conduct orientation sessions for current students
- Ensure adherence to library policies, discipline,



and cleanliness standards

Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a college/university library
- Working knowledge of KOHA Library Management Software (cataloguing, circulation, reports module)
- Familiarity with OPAC systems, digital repositories, and e-resource management
- Good knowledge of classification systems (DDC/UDC) and cataloguing standards (AACR2/RDA)

Preferred Skills:
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to assist students/faculty
- Ability to multitask and manage library operations independently
- NET/SET (Library Science) qualification preferred (if applicable to institution norms)
