_Job Summary_

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to psychiatric patients, ensuring their safety, well-being, and recovery. The role includes medication administration, patient observation, crisis intervention, behavioral management, and participation in therapeutic activities while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Key Responsibilities_Patient Care
- Assess patients' physical, psychological, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
- Monitor and record vital signs, mental status, and treatment progress.
- Provide nursing care according to individualized treatment plans.
- Assist psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals in patient management.
- Ensure patient comfort, hygiene, nutrition, and daily living activities.
- Medication Management_
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
- Maintain accurate medication records.
- Observe and report adverse drug reactions to the treating psychiatrist.
- Psychiatric Care & Observation_
- Maintain continuous observation of patients as required.




- Monitor patients for suicidal, self-harm, aggressive, or violent behaviors.
- Implement de-escalation techniques during behavioral crises.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies regarding restraint and seclusion procedures.
- Safety & Security_
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic ward setting.
- Conduct patient belongings checks as per hospital policy.
- Report incidents, accidents, absconding attempts, or unusual behavior immediately.
- Participate in emergency response procedures.
- Documentation_
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, observation charts, medication records, and incident reports.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by management and regulatory authorities.
- Coordination & Communication_
- Coordinate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, and caregivers.
