Job Purpose

The Wellness Counsellor will be responsible for promoting the emotional, psychological, social and overall wellbeing of students by providing counselling support, identifying student concerns at an early stage, facilitating appropriate interventions, and creating a protected and supportive school environment.

The role will work closely with students, teachers, parents and school leadership to address academic stress, behavioural concerns, emotional challenges, peer relationships, career planning and other age-appropriate wellbeing needs.

Key Responsibilities1. Student Counselling & Support
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students.
- Support students dealing with academic pressure, examination stress, anxiety, emotional difficulties, peer conflicts, behavioural concerns and adjustment issues.
- Maintain a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for students.
- Identify students who may require additional psychological, medical or specialist intervention and facilitate appropriate referrals.




- Conduct follow-up sessions to monitor student wellbeing and progress.

2. Wellness & Mental Health Programmes
- Develop and implement age-appropriate student wellness programmes.
- Conduct workshops and awareness sessions on:
- Stress management
- Emotional regulation
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Healthy relationships
- Peer pressure
- Bullying and cyberbullying
- Study skills and examination stress
- Digital wellbeing
- Life skills
- Decision-making and problem-solving
- Promote positive mental health and emotional resilience across the school community.

3. Academic & Career Guidance
- Support students in developing effective study habits and time-management skills.
- Provide age-appropriate academic guidance and motivation.
- Assist secondary and senior secondary students with career awareness and career decision-making.
