Job Description:

Optical & Fibre Domain

DWDM/CWDM/ROADM, OTN architectures

Optical capacity & spectrum planning, wavelength allocation

Fibre infrastructure planning (routes, joints, ducts)

Optical budget basics (loss, OSNR)

Vendor exposure: Ciena, Nokia, Infinera

2. IP/MPLS & Integration

Core understanding of IP/MPLS backbone & traffic engineering

Integration across IP Optical transport layers

Awareness of L2/L3 services (B2B, Metro, Wholesale)

3. Capacity Planning & Modelling

Traffic forecasting & utilisation modelling

Exhaust & headroom planning

Scenario-based analysis (failover / growth cases)

Cost vs capacity optimization

4. Tools & Data Systems

Planning & inventory tools (Infoblox, GIS/IQGeo, OSS)

Data quality management & governance

Exposure to Digital Twin / simulation models

Lifecycle & Infrastructure

EoL/EoS lifecycle planning & risk mitigation

Technical site capacity (power, space, cooling)

Network consolidation & legacy optimisation

AI/ML-based forecasting (preferred)
