Job Summary

The Folder Maker is responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining folders, guides, and attachments used in sewing machines to improve productivity, consistency, and garment quality in knitwear manufacturing. The role supports production efficiency by developing customized folders for various sewing operations and ensuring their proper functioning on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

Folder Development & Fabrication
- Design and manufacture sewing folders, guides, and attachments as per production requirements.
- Develop customized folders for various knit garment operations such as hemming, binding, piping, tape attachment, placket folding, and elastic insertion.
- Interpret technical specifications, samples, and operation requirements to create suitable folder designs.
- Modify existing folders to improve sewing quality and production efficiency.

Installation & Maintenance




- Install folders and attachments on sewing machines.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repair of damaged or malfunctioning folders.
- Perform periodic maintenance and calibration of folders and guides.
- Ensure proper alignment and operation of folders during production.

Production Support
- Work closely with Industrial Engineering (IE), Production, and Maintenance teams to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide technical support during recent style development and production trials.
- Assist operators in understanding proper folder usage.
- Reduce defects and operator handling through effective folder design.

Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce sewing cycle time through folder innovations.
- Participate in productivity improvement projects.
- Maintain records of folder designs, modifications, and inventory.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
