Experience Required:2 to 5yrs
Skill sets needed:
• Experience: professional experience in CAD design, preferably within the Engine or heavy machinery industry.
• Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in PTC Creo (or similar parametric CAD software). Knowledge of Windchill for data management is essential.
• Technical Knowledge: Foundational knowledge of internal combustion engine components and their functions. Additional knowledge of Sheet metal components.
• Design Skills: Strong understanding of GD&T; principles and their application in mechanical design.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Job description/ roles & responsibilities
• Design/ modelling in detail several of engine components (e.g., pistons, crankshafts, cylinder blocks) using PTC Creo software.
• Design/modelling knowledge in Sheet metal products (Canopy, control panel etc.)
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings in compliance with engineering standards, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T;).
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet all technical and manufacturability requirements.
• Manage and control product data, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) using the
Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical feedback to optimize component design for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Conduct basic engineering calculations and simulations (e.g., clearance checks, interference analysis) within the CAD setting to validate designs.
