Job Overview

We are looking for a Purchase Executive for an FMCG retail/supermarket business. The candidate will be responsible for managing the complete purchasing process, coordinating with suppliers and distributors, ensuring timely availability of products, maintaining purchase records, and supporting efficient inventory management.

The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of FMCG products, supplier coordination, purchase orders, pricing, stock levels, and basic inventory management.

Key Responsibilities Purchase & Procurement
- Handle day-to-day purchase activities for FMCG and retail products.
- Identify and coordinate with suppliers, distributors, and vendors.
- Collect and compare quotations, prices, schemes, discounts, and payment terms.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive prices and better commercial terms.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per requirements.
- Ensure timely ordering and availability of fast-moving products.
- Coordinate with suppliers for order confirmation and delivery schedules.




- Follow up on pending and delayed purchase orders.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and invoices.
- Coordinate with the store/inventory team regarding incoming materials.

Inventory & Stock Coordination
- Monitor stock levels and identify low-stock, rapid-moving, and slow-moving products.
- Coordinate purchase requirements based on sales and inventory levels.
- Avoid overstocking, understocking, and unnecessary purchases.
- Maintain proper records of purchases and supplier transactions.
- Coordinate for replacement of damaged, incorrect, or short-supplied products.
- Monitor product expiry dates and coordinate with suppliers wherever required.
- Support regular stock verification and reconciliation.

Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and distributors.
- Maintain updated vendor information and contact details.
