Role Overview

We are looking for a strong SAP ABAP Consultant with 56 years of hands-on development

experience for an onsite customer engagement in Ahmedabad, India.

The consultant should possess excellent ABAP coding and technical development capabilities,

with strong experience in developing and supporting SAP integrations/interfaces. As this is a

customer-facing assignment, the consultant must be comfortable interacting directly with

business users, functional consultants, customer IT teams, and other project stakeholders.

Exposure to SAP Fiori / OData development or Fiori UI development will be considered a

strong added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, test, and support SAP solutions using ABAP.
- Perform hands-on ABAP development across reports, interfaces, conversions,

enhancements, forms, and workflows as applicable.

- Develop high-quality, reusable, and performance-optimized ABAP code following SAP

development standards.

- Handle technical development required for SAP integrations and interfaces with SAP

and non-SAP applications.

- Develop and troubleshoot integration-related ABAP components, including APIs, RFCs,

BAPIs, IDocs, Web Services, and other interface mechanisms.

- Work closely with SAP functional consultants to understand functional specifications and

translate them into robust technical solutions.

- Prepare technical specifications, unit-test documents, code documentation, and other

required project deliverables.

- Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, performance tuning, and resolution of complex

ABAP issues.

- Support SIT, UAT, cutover, go-live, and post-go-live activities as required.
- Participate in customer discussions for requirement clarification, technical solutioning,

issue resolution,



and status updates.

- Coordinate effectively with onsite/offshore teams and customer stakeholders.
- Ensure timely delivery of assigned developments while maintaining quality and coding

Standards.

Mandatory Technical Skills

The candidate should have 5–6 years of relevant SAP ABAP experience, with strong hands-on

expertise in:

- Core SAP ABAP Programming
- Object-Oriented ABAP / ABAP Objects
- Reports, ALV and Dialog Programming
- Enhancements, User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs and Enhancement Framework
- BAPIs and RFCs
- IDoc development, enhancements and troubleshooting
- Interface / Integration development
- Web Services / APIs and integration-related coding
- Data Dictionary objects
- Debugging and troubleshooting
- Performance analysis and optimization
- Forms development such as Smart Forms / Adobe Forms, where applicable
- Transport and SAP development lifecycle management
- Technical specification and documentation preparation

Solid integration coding capability is particularly key for this role.

Added Advantage – SAP Fiori

Candidates having exposure to one or more of the following will be preferred:

- SAP Gateway / OData Service Development
- OData service creation, enhancement and troubleshooting
- CDS Views and modern ABAP development concepts
- SAP Fiori application development
- SAPUI5 / Fiori UI development




- Fiori application troubleshooting and enhancements
- Integration of Fiori applications with SAP backend services

Deep Fiori expertise is not mandatory; however, hands-on OData development or Fiori UI

development exposure will be a significant advantage.

Customer-Facing & Communication Requirements

This is a customer-facing onsite position, and therefore the consultant must:

- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be confident interacting directly with customer stakeholders.
- Be able to independently understand and clarify technical requirements.
- Explain technical issues and solutions clearly to functional and customer teams.
- Participate effectively in requirement workshops and technical discussions.
- Provide clear progress updates and proactively highlight risks, dependencies, and

technical challenges.

- Demonstrate professional customer-handling and stakeholder-management skills.
- Be capable of working independently with limited supervision.

Candidate Profile

- 5–6 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong coding capability – candidates should be comfortable with a hands-on technical

assessment / coding discussion.

- Strong experience developing SAP interfaces and integration components.
- Good understanding of SAP functional and technical integration points.
- Ability to analyze requirements and independently design technical solutions.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exposure to Fiori/OData or Fiori UI development is desirable.
- Prior experience in customer-facing onsite engagements is highly preferred.
- Flexible to work according to customer/project requirements.
