Azure DBA

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Azure DBA with strong hands-on expertise in SQL Server and Azure database services. The candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance, availability, security, backup/recovery, and cloud migration activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support SQL Server databases in production and non-production environments.
- Manage Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VM.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and manage backup, restore, HA/DR, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support on-premises to Azure database migrations.
- Monitor database health, capacity, performance, and availability.
- Manage database security, access, auditing, and Azure RBAC.
- Automate DBA activities using PowerShell, T-SQL, or Azure CLI.
- Collaborate with application, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams.




- Provide production support and participate in incident/root-cause analysis.

Required Skills
- 5-7 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
- Strong SQL Server administration and T-SQL skills.
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL and Azure database services.
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning, backup/recovery, and HA/DR.
- Experience with NoSQL (Cosmos DB/ Mongo DB).
- Experience with Always On Availability Groups is preferred.
- Good understanding of Azure security, networking, monitoring, and RBAC.
- Experience with Azure database migration is an advantage.
- PowerShell/Azure CLI scripting experience is preferred.
- DP-300 / Azure DBA certification is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

A hands-on DBA who combines robust SQL Server administration skills with practical Azure experience, is comfortable supporting production environments, and can independently troubleshoot database and performance issues.
