Financial Modelling & Strategy Consultant Fashion E-commerce Marketplace

The consultant will build and validate the complete financial and monetisation model for an early-stage fashion-tech e-commerce marketplace. This is a strategic finance assignment and not a bookkeeping, taxation or routine accounting role.

Roles and responsibilities
- Understand the marketplace business model, seller journey, product categories and proposed revenue streams.
- Develop seller subscription plans, pricing tiers, benefits and upgrade strategies.
- Design seller commission structures across subscription tiers and product categories.
- Build revenue models covering commissions, subscriptions, advertising, promotions and other monetisation opportunities.
- Prepare monthly and annual projections for GMV, orders, active sellers, customers and average order value.
- Define and validate key assumptions, including CAC, LTV, AOV, take rate, margins, churn, returns and seller retention.
- Calculate unit economics at the order, customer, seller,



subscription-tier and product-category levels.
- Incorporate costs related to payment gateways, shipping, COD, returns, refunds, discounts, promotions and customer support.
- Develop a comprehensive three-year financial model with monthly projections.
- Prepare projected profit-and-loss and cash-flow statements.
- Calculate contribution margins, break-even point, cash burn and runway.
- Build realistic, optimistic and conservative scenarios with sensitivity analysis.
- Determine funding requirements for different growth stages.
- Evaluate whether the proposed commission and subscription models are financially viable and competitive.
- Challenge assumptions and recommend practical, financially sustainable alternatives.
- Identify major financial risks, cost leakages and profitability drivers.
- Create a dynamic and easy-to-use Excel or Google Sheets model with editable assumptions.
