Role & responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of housekeeping staff.
- Allocate duties and prepare staff deployment schedules.
- Ensure the cleanliness of patient rooms, ICUs, OTs, OPDs, wards, laboratories, diagnostic areas, offices, corridors, waiting areas, washrooms, and other hospital premises.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with housekeeping and hospital hygiene standards.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Monitor biomedical waste segregation and ensure compliance with hospital waste management guidelines.
- Ensure the availability of housekeeping supplies, consumables, and cleaning equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping records, attendance, checklists, and inspection reports.
- Coordinate with nursing, maintenance, security, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted services.
- Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety practices, and infection control measures.
- Monitor staff performance and recommend corrective actions when required.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and safety regulations.
