Maintenance Manager

Own the health and availability of every machine and utility in the factory. Keep the plant running beam saws, edge banders, CNC, and all supporting utilities by driving preventive and predictive maintenance, fast breakdown recovery, and disciplined spares management, so production never stops for want of a working machine.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine uptime: own overall equipment availability across all units; minimise unplanned breakdown downtime and drive uptime to target.
Preventive maintenance: build and enforce the PM calendar for every machine (beam saw, edge banding, CNC, drilling, pressing, dust extraction); no PM slippage.
¢ Breakdown response: run a rapid, structured breakdown-response system; line incharges escalate to Maintenance and expect rapid recovery with root-cause capture.
¢ Predictive & condition monitoring: introduce condition-based checks (vibration, thermal, wear) on critical machines to catch failures before they happen.
¢ Spares management: define and stock critical spares; maintain min-max levels and a clean spares register; eliminate downtime waiting for parts.
¢ OEM / AMC vendor management: manage OEM and AMC contracts for imported and local machinery; hold vendors to service SLAs.
¢ Utilities: ensure reliable compressed air, power, and dust-extraction; manage DG / power back-up and energy efficiency.
¢ Safety & compliance: enforce electrical and machine safety, LOTO, and statutory compliance (Karnataka OSH); zero maintenance-related safety incidents.
¢ CAPEX & upgrades: provide technical inputs on machine replacement, capacity upgrades, and new-machine commissioning.
¢ Team & cost: lead, roster, and skill the technician team; control the maintenance budget without compromising uptime.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
¢ Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
¢ Experience: 1015 years in plant maintenance,



ideally in modular furniture / panel / woodworking or process manufacturing, with hands-on exposure to Homag / Biesse / SCM / IMA-class machinery.
¢ Technical: strong on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-based systems; preventive/predictive maintenance methods; spares planning.
¢ Leadership: has run a multi-technician team across shifts; can build systems and discipline, not just react to breakdowns.
¢ Behavioural: ownership mindset, cost-conscious, safety-first, calm under breakdown pressure.

Measured on: Machine uptime / availability % • MTBF (mean time between failures) and MTTR (mean time to repair) • Unplanned breakdown downtime (hours) • PM schedule adherence % • Critical spares availability % • Maintenance cost vs budget • Maintenance-related safety incidents (target: zero)

Own the factory's material backbone from inward receipt to issue at the line. Guarantee that the right material is available, accurately recorded, well-preserved, and issued on time to production, while keeping inventory accuracy tight and shrinkage near zero. Run the central store, hardware store, and central pasting as one disciplined operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
¢ Inward & GRN: own receipt, quality-gate coordination, GRN, and put-away for boards, laminates, hardware, aluminium/glass and consumables; no un-booked stock.
¢ Material availability: guarantee BOM-based material readiness against the daily production and dispatch plan; drive fill-rate to the line and prevent stock-outs.




¢ Central pasting: oversee the central pasting operation throughput, quality, and timely feed of pasted panels to the units.
¢ Inventory accuracy: run cycle counts and periodic physical verification; keep ERP stock reconciled to physical; investigate and close every variance.
¢ Storage & preservation: own bin / location discipline, FIFO, and correct preservation of moisture-sensitive and fragile materials; minimise damage and obsolescence.
¢ Issue to production: run accurate, BOM / kit-based issue to the units with a full audit trail; eliminate over-issue and pilferage.
¢ Replenishment coordination: work with procurement and planning on reorder levels, min-max, and lead-time buffers; flag ageing and slow-moving stock.
¢ ERP discipline: ensure every inward, transfer, and issue is transacted in ERP in real time; keep a clean, auditable stock ledger.
¢ Space & 5S: optimise warehouse layout and space utilisation; enforce 5S, housekeeping, and material-handling safety.
¢ Team & control: lead the Modular, Hardware, and pasting teams; drive shrinkage/damage control and inter-team discipline.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
¢ Qualification: Graduate / B.E.; diploma or degree in logistics / supply chain / materials management a plus.
¢ Experience: 1015 years in warehouse / stores / materials management in manufacturing furniture, building materials, or FMCG with central-store and issue-to-production ownership.
¢ Technical: robust ERP / WMS discipline, BOM-based issue, cycle-count methods, inventory-accuracy and shrinkage-control systems.
¢ Leadership: has run a multi-team stores operation; can build process and discipline across inward, storage, pasting, and issue.
¢ Behavioural: accuracy-obsessed, systems-driven, honest, and firm on stock discipline under production pressure.
