JMP is looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Quality Engineer who will take ownership of product quality, quality documentation, inspection systems and technical drawings across the company.
The person will play a key role in establishing a complete technical and quality file for every JMP product, ensuring that each component has a clearly defined drawing, specifications, inspection methodology, PPAP documentation and quality records.
This is a hands-on engineering and quality role, requiring substantial interaction with the production, foundry, machining, purchase and inspection teams.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of 2D engineering drawings, GD&T;, CMM, PPAP, dimensional inspection, process quality and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Drawing & Technical Documentation
- Create, review and maintain detailed 2D engineering drawings for JMP products.
- Convert existing products and supplier/customer drawings into standardized JMP drawings wherever required.
- Review customer drawings and identify critical dimensions, special characteristics and inspection requirements.
- Maintain proper revision control of all drawings.
2. Product Quality File / Part Master File
For every JMP part, establish and maintain a complete technical and quality file containing, as applicable:
- Approved 2D drawing
- Customer drawing / specification
- Material specification
- Inspection standards
- Incoming inspection requirements
- In-process inspection requirements
- Final inspection requirements
- PPAP documents
- Dimensional inspection reports
- CMM reports
- Material test certificates
- Hardness reports
- MPI / NDT reports where applicable
- Process records
- Control Plan
- PFMEA
- Process Flow Diagram
- Inspection formats
- First Article Inspection reports
- NCR / rejection history
- Corrective action records
- Customer complaints and corrective actions
- Drawing and specification revisions
The objective is that any JMP part can be selected and its complete technical and quality history can be accessed from one controlled folder/file.

PPAP & Customer Quality Documentation
Take ownership of preparation and maintenance of PPAP documentation for new and existing products.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing PPAP submissions as per customer requirements.
- Preparing/reviewing:
- Part Submission Warrant (PSW)
- Dimensional Results
- Material / Performance Test Results
- Process Flow Diagram
- Process FMEA
- Control Plan
- MSA / Gauge R&R;
- Capability studies where applicable
- Sample approval documentation
- Appearance approval where applicable
- Supporting quality records
- Coordinate with production, suppliers and customers to close PPAP requirements.
- Maintain PPAP records and revision history.
Robust practical knowledge of PPAP and APQP concepts is expected.
4. CMM & Dimensional Inspection
- Independently operate and program/use CMM equipment for dimensional inspection.
- Develop CMM inspection programs/reports for critical components.
- Interpret CMM reports and compare results against engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Establish appropriate inspection methods for complex components.
- Coordinate with inspectors for dimensional inspection of components.
- Ensure proper calibration and control of measuring instruments.
- Develop inspection gauges / fixtures wherever required in coordination with the engineering team.
5. Shop-Floor Quality Control
Take overall technical ownership of quality at different stages of manufacturing:

Responsibilities include:
- Establish inspection standards for incoming raw materials and bought-out components.
- Establish in-process inspection requirements for machining and manufacturing operations.
- Ensure first-piece / setup inspection is carried out properly.
- Define critical dimensions that require periodic inspection.
- Monitor process deviations and recurring defects.
- Identify root causes of quality problems.
- Work with production to implement permanent corrective actions.
- Reduce internal rejection, rework and customer complaints.
- The candidate must be comfortable spending significant time on the shop floor, not only in the quality office.
6. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
- Identify and document non-conforming products.
- Maintain NCR records and rejection data.
- Conduct root-cause analysis using appropriate quality tools.
- Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Track recurring defects and ensure permanent corrective action.
- Prepare customer complaint responses and corrective action reports.
7. Quality Systems & Process Control
Develop and strengthen JMP's quality systems, including:
- Process Flow Diagrams
- PFMEA
- Control Plans
- Inspection Standards
- Work Instructions
- Standard Inspection Formats
- First Article Inspection systems
- Gauge calibration systems
- Traceability systems
- NCR systems
- Corrective Action systems
- Document control and revision control
The candidate will be expected to build systems rather than merely maintain existing paperwork.
8. Supplier & Bought-Out Part Quality
- Establish quality requirements for bought-out components.
-Develop incoming inspection standards.
- Evaluate supplier quality issues.
- Work with suppliers on corrective actions.
- Review supplier inspection reports and material certificates.
- Support supplier development and qualification when required.
9. Quality Data & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain quality KPIs and rejection data.
- Analyze rejection and rework trends.
- Identify high-defect / high-cost areas.
- Drive reduction in:
Internal rejection
Rework
Customer complaints
Supplier rejection
Dimensional variation
Establish measurable quality improvement targets.
