The Senior Purchase Executive will be responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, components, and consumables required for helmet manufacturing, ensuring the right quality, quantity, cost, and timely availability. The role will focus on developing and managing a reliable local and national vendor base while optimizing procurement costs and maintaining uninterrupted production.

Key materials include ABS/PP/HDPE plastic granules, EPS/Thermocol, polycarbonate sheets, foam padding, fabrics, fabric mesh, chin straps, metal buckles, hardware, and packaging materials.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and procure raw materials and components required for helmet manufacturing, including:
- ABS/HDPE/PP plastic granules for outer shells
- EPS beads/Thermocol for inner liners
- Polycarbonate sheets for visors
- Foam padding and other cushioning materials
- 2-way and 4-way stretch fabrics
- Fabric mesh
- Chin straps, buckles, rivets, metal hardware, and accessories
- Packaging materials

- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop reliable suppliers, with a preference for vendors in the KhedaAhmedabad industrial belt wherever feasible, along with suitable national suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment and credit terms, rate contracts, and other commercial terms to optimize procurement costs.
- Monitor plastic/resin price trends, including crude-oil-linked price movements, and provide inputs for forward buying and cost planning.
- Raise, track, and expedite purchase orders based on production requirements and schedules shared by the PPC team.
- Coordinate closely with PPC, Stores, Production, and QC/QA teams to ensure timely availability and acceptance of materials.




- Coordinate with QC/QA to ensure incoming raw materials meet applicable BIS/ISI requirements and relevant specifications, including IS 4151 where applicable, before acceptance.
- Maintain and regularly update vendor master data, approved vendor lists, rate contracts, and supplier performance records.
- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and service levels.
- Coordinate import documentation and customs-related activities for materials sourced from outside India, wherever applicable.
- Resolve vendor-related issues concerning quality, quantity, pricing, documentation, and delivery, and ensure timely corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Coordinate with Stores to maintain optimum raw-material inventory levels and prevent production stoppages, excess inventory, and unnecessary working-capital blockage.
- Track open purchase orders, pending deliveries, and material shortages, and proactively follow up with suppliers.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, internal controls, and applicable statutory requirements, including GST, e-way bills, and purchase documentation/audit trails.
- Maintain proper procurement records and documentation for audit and management review.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Plastics Engineering,



Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Diploma holders with relevant procurement experience may also be considered.
- 2-5 years of relevant procurement/purchase experience, preferably in plastics, injection molding, automotive components, two-wheeler accessories, helmets, or similar manufacturing industries.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/purchase systems; SAP Business One (SAP B1) is mandatory.
- Good proficiency in MS Excel and purchase-related documentation.
- Strong negotiation, vendor development, vendor management, and follow-up skills.
- Valuable understanding of raw-material procurement, pricing, lead times, and supplier management.
- Familiarity with the Gujarat supplier ecosystem, particularly suppliers of plastics, EPS, polycarbonate, fabrics, and molded components, will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple procurement requirements simultaneously.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Cost savings against budgeted/standard material costs.
- Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance.
- Incoming material rejection/defect rate.
- Raw-material inventory turnover and inventory optimization.
- Number and frequency of material stockouts/production stoppages due to procurement delays.
- Purchase Order (PO) cycle time from requisition to delivery.
- Supplier performance and development.
- Timely closure of vendor quality and delivery issues.
- Compliance with procurement processes and documentation requirements.
