Role & responsibilities

The Group CFO at Fenice Energy is the senior finance leader responsible for the companys money, profitability, funding, financial controls, and financial strategy. The person works closely with the CEO, Board, business heads, investors, banks, and lenders.

What the CFO will mainly do
- Financial planning: Set budgets, forecasts, financial targets, KPIs, and long-term financial plans.
- Raise money: Arrange debt and equity funding from banks, NBFCs, investors, PE/infrastructure funds and other institutions.
- Project finance: Evaluate solar, wind, storage and other renewable projects and decide whether projects make financial sense based on IRR, DSCR, payback and returns.
- Improve profitability: Track profitability by business, project, customer and product and improve margins and return on capital.
- Manage cash: Make sure the company has enough cash and improve collections, receivables, inventory and overall working capital.
- Accounting & compliance: Ensure accounts are accurate, audits happen on time, and the company complies with Ind AS,



Companies Act, GST, income tax, FEMA, transfer pricing, etc.
- Investments & M&A;: Evaluate acquisitions, JVs and investments and prepare valuation/business cases for the Board.
- Governance: Present financial performance and risks to the Board and strengthen financial controls and governance.
- Build the finance team: Develop strong teams across FP&A;, accounting, treasury, tax, project finance and compliance, while improving ERP/MIS and automation.

Preferred candidate profile

Ideally, a CA with around 13 - 18 years of finance experience, including senior finance leadership. They should preferably have experience in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, EPC, utilities or another capital-intensive sector.

Most importantly, they should have robust experience in fundraising, project finance, financial modelling, managing multiple companies/SPVs, working with banks/investors/Boards, and building stron
