ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager General Ledger Accounting & Review to support the Finance & Accounting function across multiple entities. The role will be responsible for General Ledger review, account reconciliations, month-end close, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded accounting professional with robust General Ledger expertise, capable of independently reviewing accounts, analyzing accounting transactions, identifying discrepancies, and driving timely resolution of reconciling items.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

GENERAL LEDGER REVIEW
- Review and analyze GL accounts for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate accounting treatment.
- Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments, reclassifications, and other accounting adjustments.
- Ensure transactions are recorded in the correct accounting period and appropriate GL accounts.
- Identify unusual transactions, errors, or inconsistencies and ensure timely correction.

BALANCE SHEET & P&L; RECONCILIATION




- Own and perform detailed Balance Sheet and P&L; account reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank, AR, AP, payroll, tax, prepaid, fixed assets, accruals, and other GL accounts.
- Investigate reconciling items and identify the underlying accounting differences.
- Ensure aged and unexplained balances are followed up and cleared in a timely manner.

MONTH-END CLOSE
- Manage assigned month-end close activities within established timelines.
- Prepare and review month-end journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications.
- Ensure key GL accounts are reviewed and reconciled before close.
- Coordinate with Finance teams to resolve issues impacting the month-end close.

ACCOUNT REVIEW & ISSUE RESOLUTION
- Review account movements and supporting schedules for completeness and accuracy.
- Investigate discrepancies between the GL and supporting records.
