Job Title: R&D; Engineer — Mechanical / Related Engineering (SolidWorks)

Key Responsibilities

Develop 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for components and assemblies using SolidWorks or equivalent tools.

Create and iterate prototype designs; support rapid prototyping and physical testing.

Perform basic engineering calculations (statics, strength, tolerances, kinematics) to validate designs.

Collaborate with product managers, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design-for-manufacture issues.

Produce BOMs, assembly instructions, and documentation for handover to production.

Participate in design reviews, provide technical input, and incorporate feedback.

Troubleshoot product issues and propose practical, cost-effective improvements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

1–5 years of hands-on experience in product design or R&D; (fresh graduates with strong internships may apply).

Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software (CATIA, Inventor,



Fusion 360).

Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and applied mathematics (stress/strain, tolerance analysis, basic kinematics).

Experience creating manufacturing-ready drawings and BOMs.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Comfortable with prototyping tools and materials (sheet metal, plastics, fasteners) and basic workshop practices.

Desired (Nice-to-have)

Experience with FEA tools (SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS) or hands-on experimental testing.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes: injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, woodworking.

Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) or CAD data management.

Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC) and test fixture design.
