Role & responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen saturation, ECG, neurological status, and overall condition.
- Assist doctors during emergency procedures, resuscitation, and critical care interventions.
- Manage and monitor ventilated patients and provide appropriate airway and respiratory care.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, nursing notes, medication charts, and vital signs documentation.
- Monitor IV lines, central lines, feeding tubes, catheters, and other medical devices.
- Identify changes in patients' conditions and immediately report critical findings to the treating physician.
- Follow infection-control, medication-safety, and hospital protocols.




- Assist with procedures such as suctioning, blood sampling, catheterization, and pediatric emergency care.
- Provide post-operative and continuous monitoring of pediatric patients.
- Communicate effectively with doctors, nurses, patients' parents, and caregivers.
- Educate and support parents regarding the child's treatment, care, and recovery.
- Ensure proper maintenance and availability of emergency equipment and PICU supplies.
- Maintain a clean, protected, and organized PICU environment.
- Participate in shift handovers and coordinate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
