About the Role
We are looking for an
experienced Long-Form Video Editor
to turn MojoOnPC’s flagship events, livestreams and larger gaming concepts into high-retention YouTube videos.
This is not a basic gaming-editing role.
You will be working with large amounts of footage from ambitious productions such as:
- Multi-day live events
- Creator competitions
- Travel challenges
- Virtual reality experiments
- Gaming challenges
- Large-scale interactive livestreams
Your job is to take hours—or sometimes days—of footage and turn it into a
tight, highly entertaining 15–40 minute YouTube video
with a explicit story, strong pacing and constant forward momentum.
The goal is simple:
Make the viewer want to know what happens next until the final second.
Your ResponsibilitiesStorytelling & Structure
You will be responsible for finding the story inside large amounts of footage.
This includes:
- Identifying the strongest storyline.
- Finding the best moments, reactions, conflicts and payoffs.
- Building a clear beginning, middle and ending.
- Removing anything that does not move the story forward.
- Creating strong setups and payoffs.
- Building tension toward major moments.
- Maintaining unanswered questions throughout the video.
- Making complicated events easy for a new viewer to understand.
You should be able to look at a 50-hour event and understand:
What is the 25-minute story people actually want to watch?
Retention Editing
Every editing decision should consider viewer retention.
You should understand how to use:
- Open loops.
- Escalation.
- Pattern interrupts.
- Visual storytelling.
- Music.
- Sound design.
- Graphics.
- Time compression.
- Reaction shots.
- Foreshadowing.
- Payoffs.
- Pacing changes.
- Strategic cuts.
Fast editing alone is not good
