Position Summary
The Tax Research Administrator II (S2) is responsible for researching, analyzing, and resolving payroll tax notices across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
This role handles standard to moderately complex cases independently and performs detailed reconciliations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
The L2 role builds on foundational tax knowledge and requires the ability to interact with tax agencies, manage case portfolios, and contribute to timely resolution while meeting service level agreements. This position plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency and minimizing customer liability exposure.
What You’ll Do
Tax Notice Research & Resolution
- Research, analyze, and resolve payroll tax notices for multi-state tax entities within defined SLAs.
- Handle standard to moderately complex cases with increasing independence.
- Identify discrepancies related to filings, payments, tax rates, and account setup.
- Apply corrective actions to resolve notices and minimize penalties and interest.
- Escalate high-complexity issues to senior team members when required.
Reconciliation & Analysis
- Perform QTD and YTD reconciliation of wages and tax amounts
