JOB DESCRIPTION
Key areas of responsibility:
Ensure comprehensive patient care and maintenance of quality standards in Pharmacy
1. To control inventory levels and ordering process according to allotted budget.
2. To establishes feasible method of storage of pharmaceuticals & to minimizes expiry of pharmaceuticals.
3. To establishes billing and pricing structures for pharmaceuticals subject to the approval of the hospital.
4. To control drug purchases cost by negotiations and contracts.
5.
To ensure delivery of quality pharmacy services for clients and employees.
6. To ensure the dispensing of medications with clear instructions and correct labeling to patients.
7. To provide transparent, understandable instructions to discharge patients in a language known to patient with information leaflets if possible.
8. To act as a liaison with nursing and medical staff concerning prescriptions orders, drugs and pharmaceutical details, resident reactions, errors and complaints.
9. To plan, organize and supervise activities in the hospital pharmacy areas according to hospital policies and directives, good pharmaceutical practice, standard practices of the profession and pharmacy legislation.
10. To maintain & establish departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environment and injection control standards.
11. To implement decision of the drug Committee meetings.
