Job Title: Operations Manager

Department: Operations / Production

Reports To: Plant Head / Factory Manager / Director

Job Summary

The operations manager is responsible for leading and managing all manufacturing operations to ensure safe, effective, and cost-effective production while maintaining the highest quality standards. The role includes overseeing production, planning, maintenance, quality, inventory, logistics, and workforce management to achieve operational excellence and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

Plan, organise, and monitor daily manufacturing activities to meet production targets.

Ensure optimum utilisation of manpower, machinery, and materials.

Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time delivery.

Minimise downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Process Improvement

Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

Improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

Quality Management





Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or relevant standards).

Monitor product quality and reduce defects, rework, and customer complaints.

Coordinate with the Quality team to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Maintenance & Asset Management

Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.

Ensure maximum machine availability and reliability.

Monitor maintenance KPIs and equipment performance.

Inventory & Supply Chain

Manage raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory.

Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted production.

Optimize inventory levels while reducing waste.

Team Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and operators.

Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
