The Opportunity
Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASSA) is offering an exciting opportunity to gain work experience as a full-time Assistant Academic Advisor. ASSA is a unit of Student Success & Well-being (SSWB), which provides academic support for student-athletes. Individuals interested in this position would have the opportunity to work with a highly competitive program, participate in trainings, and receive full-time experience to sharpen your skills as an athletic academic advisor.

The position is for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters, and will be working with Men's Basketball & Baseball.

Responsibilities
- Meet with assigned students weekly, assisting with academic progress monitoring and planning.
- Assist students with academic skill development.
- Assist advisors with daily tasks such as compiling reports (study hall, grades, eligibility, class schedules, class checking report).
- Assist with recruiting.
- Monitor team study halls.
- Participate in bi-weekly trainings relevant to academic advising and learning specialist responsibilities.




- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience working directly with student-athletes.
- Demonstrated background in mentoring and advising students in academic or athletic settings.
- Prior experience supporting at‑risk or academically vulnerable student-athletes is preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred, or current enrollment in a master’s program beginning in Summer 2026 or Fall 2026.
