The Quantity Estimation & Billing Engineer / Quantity Surveyor is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender documentation, project billing, quantity take-offs, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures accurate budgeting, timely client and subcontractor billing, contract compliance, and effective commercial management of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Develop accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Prepare rate analysis for various construction activities.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain updated databases of material and labor costs.
Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
- Prepare comprehensive BOQs based on project drawings and specifications.
- Verify quantities and measurements before tender submission.
- Revise and update BOQs according to design modifications and client requirements.
- Ensure BOQs comply with relevant standards and contract documents.
Tendering & Procurement
- Prepare tender documents, bid estimates, and commercial proposals.
- Review tender drawings, specifications, and contractual conditions.
- Coordinate with procurement teams for vendor and subcontractor selection.
- Perform comparative analysis of supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Support contract negotiations and award recommendations.
Billing & Measurement
- Prepare client RA (Running Account) bills and final bills.
