Role & responsibilities
- Incoming Fabric Inspection Inspect 100% of incoming fabric before approval for production.
- Fabric Quality Verification – Ensure fabric matches approved quality, construction, hand feel, and finish.
- Fabric Defect Inspection – Identify and segregate weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing defects before issue.
- Shade Matching – Verify shade consistency across all rolls and segregate lots to prevent shade variation.
- Fabric Measurement Verification – Check width, GSM, roll length, and meterage against approved specifications.
- Shrinkage & Fabric Testing – Conduct required shrinkage and quality tests before fabric is released for cutting.
- Fabric Rejection Control – Isolate and report defective fabric to prevent its use in production.
- Timely Inspection – Complete fabric inspection within the defined turnaround time to avoid production delays.
- Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate inspection reports, defect records, and test reports.
- Supplier Quality Feedback – Report recurring fabric quality issues to the sourcing and QA teams for corrective action.
- Production Support – Ensure only approved fabric is issued to cutting as per the production plan.
- Compliance with SOPs – Follow fabric inspection standards and quality procedures consistently.
- Inventory Accuracy – Ensure physical fabric stock matches inspection records and inventory data.
- Workplace Discipline – Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabric inspection area at all times.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify recurring defects and recommend process improvements to reduce fabric rejections.
Preferred candidate profile
- Should be a gruaduate
- Should have at least 2-3 years of working experience
- Should have positive knowledge about fabrics, dying, measurements etc
