Job Summary

The Procurement Head / Purchase Manager is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven sourcing of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering spares, capital equipment, utilities, and services. The role focuses on vendor development, contract negotiations, inventory optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted plant operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement Management
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering spares, chemicals, consumables, and indirect materials.
- Plan procurement based on production forecasts and inventory levels.
- Monitor procurement budgets and achieve cost optimization targets.

Vendor Development & Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers.
- Conduct vendor audits and performance evaluations.




- Build long-term relationships with strategic suppliers.
- Develop alternate sources to minimize supply risks.
- Maintain an approved vendor database.

Strategic Sourcing
- Source competitive quotations and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and annual contracts.
- Finalize purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure procurement delivers the best value without compromising quality.

Inventory & Supply Planning
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Planning, QA, and Maintenance for material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and minimize excess or obsolete stock.
- Ensure timely procurement of critical spares and consumables.
- Support inventory optimization and working capital management.

Cost Control
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering.
- Monitor market trends
