Public Partnerships and Advocacy Lead

About the Role
The Public Partnerships and Advocacy Lead will drive APD's strategic engagement with governments, public institutions, academia, industry, civil society, and development partners to advance disability-inclusive policy and accessibility across India. The role focuses on building high-impact partnerships, leading government advocacy, supporting national policy reforms, expanding institutional adoption of accessibility initiatives, and strengthening APD's position as a thought leader in disability policy and systems change. The position also supports resource mobilisation, strategic communications, and programme coordination for the Public Policy, Research & Collaborations unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement national outreach strategies to expand the reach and adoption of Yes to Access (YTA) and other PPC initiatives.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with Ministries,
State Governments, Urban Local Bodies, National Institutes, Government Universities, NGOs, academic institutions, industry associations, and development partners.
- Develop and operationalise APD's Government Engagement Strategy, identifying priority ministries, state governments, public institutions, and engagement pathways.
- Lead government engagement to advance accessibility initiatives, including Sugamya Sarvekshan, the Disability Indicator Framework, ESG Toolkit, Digital Accessibility Certification Board, and expansion of the CSR mandate.
- Represent APD in government consultations, policy dialogues, advisory committees, conferences, and public forums.
- Prepare high-quality policy briefs, consultation responses, advisory notes, presentations, advocacy decks, and strategic communication materials based on research evidence.
