Job Description for Senior Nurse - Endoscopy at Manipal Hospitals

As a Senior Nurse specializing in Endoscopy, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in the Endoscopy unit. You will be responsible for assisting physicians during endoscopic procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients, and maintaining a sterile environment. Your expertise will contribute to the effective management of the Endoscopy department, focusing on patient outcomes and adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain instruments and equipment necessary for endoscopic procedures.
- Assist physicians during procedures by ensuring appropriate positioning, instrument availability, and patient monitoring.
- Educate patients and their families about the endoscopic procedures, potential risks, and post-operative care instructions.
- Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition pre, during, and post-procedure.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.




- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Endoscopy suite.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to ongoing education of staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and procedures performed.

Skills and Tools Required:
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 year in an Endoscopy unit preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
