The Role:
JoVE is looking for a Science Writer to create accurate, engaging, and accessible scientific content for JoVE's global audience. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into explicit and easy-to-understand content.
Responsibilities:
- Convert author-submitted manuscripts into explicit, accurate, and engaging voiceover transcripts and video scripts.
- Collaborate with authors to guide their manuscripts through the JoVE video creation process.
- Proofread and review the video scripts to ensure scientific accuracy, clarity, and error-free content.
- Interpret scientific comments, feedback, and requirements accurately and implement necessary changes with precision.
- Utilize AI-assisted writing and editing tools effectively as part of the content development workflow.
- Review journal protocol videos to ensure scientific accuracy and adherence to publication standards.
- Assess author feedback on rough video drafts and effectively communicate required revisions to the video editing team.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict production timelines.
- Follow established guidelines and maintain high-quality standards throughout the script development process.
- Take initiative to identify and propose process improvements that enhance efficiency and content quality.
