Role Overview
The Shift Supervisor Recycling Plant Operations will be responsible for managing shift-wise plant activities, supervising skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled manpower, and ensuring secure, systematic, and target-oriented dismantling and material movement operations. The role demands strong shop-floor leadership, technical understanding of mechanical/electrical systems, and effective coordination with multiple internal departments such as Unloading, Stores, Sales, and downstream processing units.
This position is ideal for candidates from manufacturing, assembly, heavy engineering, automotive, electrical, electronics, fabrication, or process industries, and not from recycling or scrap industries, to bring discipline, structure, and fresh operational practices.

Key Responsibilities
1. Shift Operations & Manpower Handling
- Supervise and control shift-wise operations involving:
- Sorting, segregation, and dismantling
- Internal material movement to next processing stages
- Strong co-ordination with E-waste unloading/loading team
- Handle and allocate work to skilled technicians, machine operators, helpers, and contract labor.
- Ensure achievement of daily and shift production targets without compromising safety or quality.
- Maintain discipline, productivity, and proper utilization of manpower.

2. Coordination & Inter-Departmental Liaison
- Liaise closely with:
- Unloading Department for inbound material flow
- Stores for tool control, spares, and material handover
- Sales / Dispatch for material readiness and priority movement
- Downstream processing departments for smooth transfer of sorted/dismantled materials
- Provide accurate status updates to the MIS Executive and Production Team.

Technical & Process Execution
- Supervise dismantling of various e-waste categories, including but not limited to:
- IT & telecom equipment
- Consumer electronics
- Electrical panels and assemblies
- Ensure correct usage of dismantling tools, fixtures, and equipment.
- Follow and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and equipment manuals.
- Ensure systematic planning of activities (tool readiness, manpower allocation, work sequencing).

4. Safety, Compliance & Good Trade Practices
- Enforce shop-floor safety rules, PPE usage, and safe dismantling practices.
- Identify unsafe conditions and take immediate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with trade safety norms, material handling standards, and plant rules.
- Train workers on safe practices, handling hazardous components, and proper tool usage.

5. Material Identification & Quality Control
- Possess strong metal identification skills (ferrous, non-ferrous, alloys, PCB fractions, etc.).
- Ensure accurate segregation of materials to avoid contamination and losses.
- Monitor dismantling quality to maximize recovery and minimize damage.

6. Reporting & Documentation Support
- Provide shift-wise production, manpower, downtime, and material movement inputs to the MIS Executive.
- Maintain basic shift records related to output, issues,
and safety incidents.
- Support audit and internal checks through accurate reporting and coordination.

Mandatory Qualifications
- Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).

Experience Requirement
- 4–8 years of experience in supervisory roles on shop floors, preferably from the following industries:
- Manufacturing plants
- Automotive / Auto ancillaries
- Electrical & Electronics assembly units
- Heavy engineering / fabrication
- Process industries (cement, chemical, metal processing, etc.)
Candidates from recycling, scrap, or informal waste handling industries are not preferred.
