About the Role
Kanan.co is looking for a creative and performance-focused Video Editor to join our YouTube Growth Team. The ideal candidate should understand how editing contributes to YouTube growth, audience retention, engagement, and content performance.
The candidate must have a professionally maintained showreel/portfolio account and should be able to complete a practical editing task assigned by the company as part of the selection process.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Edit YouTube Long form videos, Shorts, Reels, promotional videos, interviews, educational content, and other digital content.
Transform raw footage into engaging, polished, and audience-friendly videos.
Create strong hooks, transitions, pacing, storytelling, and visual sequences to improve viewer retention.




Edit content according to YouTube audience behaviour, trends, and platform requirements.
Add subtitles, captions, motion graphics, animations, sound effects, B-rolls, images, and other visual elements wherever required.
Select and synchronize appropriate background music, voiceovers, sound effects, and audio elements.
Create engaging thumbnails/visual assets when required or coordinate with the design team for the same.
Repurpose long-form YouTube content into YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other short-form formats.
Work closely with the YouTube Growth Team, content writers, scriptwriters, presenters, and marketing team.
Follow brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all video content.
Review edited videos carefully to ensure there are no technical, grammatical, visual, or audio errors.
Manage multiple editing projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
Stay updated with YouTube trends, editing styles, viral formats
