Role Summary

Administer and support production databases across a portfolio of hybrid AWS/OCI managed-services clients, covering both cloud-native managed databases and self-managed instances, with responsibility for performance, backup/recovery, and patch cycles.

Key Responsibilities

Administer Oracle Autonomous Database, OCI DBCS, Amazon Aurora, RDS, PostgreSQL and MySQL across managed accounts

Own backup, recovery, and point-in-time restore configuration; validate RPO/RTO against agreed service tiers

Monitor database health (connection counts, session waits, slow queries, replication lag, tablespace growth) via the monitoring platform

Execute patch cycles and version upgrades within agreed maintenance windows, coordinated through the standard change process

Support performance tuning and capacity planning for production workloads





Participate in quarterly restore and failover testing

Provide Sev1/Sev2 escalation support for database-related incidents, including critical-only after-hours coverage

Experience Required

4 to 7 years as a DBA with demonstrated cross-platform depth Oracle (Autonomous DB/DBCS) plus at least one of Aurora/RDS/PostgreSQL/MySQL

MSP or multi-client shared-services background strongly preferred

Certifications: Oracle Certified Qualified (OCP) or OCI Database Management certification; AWS Database Specialty a plus

Comfortable working in an IaC-governed environment (Terraform-provisioned infrastructure
