Job Overview

We are seeking a Mid-Level Java Microservices & Data Platform Engineer to support a strategic GenAI-driven modernization initiative focused on enhancing the Banzai producer experience. This role will play a critical part in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable backend systems and real-time data pipelines.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture, along with exposure to distributed data platforms and contemporary cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable microservices using Java 8 and Spring Boot
Build and maintain RESTful APIs supporting high-volume enterprise applications
Develop and optimize data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads




Enhance Kafka-based real-time data processing systems
Contribute to Spark-based ETL processes and data transformation pipelines
Implement observability solutions using tools like Grafana and Splunk
Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift environments
Ensure system performance, reliability, and security through best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems with Hadoop/Databricks ecosystems

Required Skills & Qualifications:
5–7 years of experience in backend development
Robust proficiency in Java 8 and Spring Boot microservices
Experience with REST API development and integration
Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures
Exposure to Spark or large-scale data processing frameworks
Experience with container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift)
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk)
Understanding of CI/CD and version control tools (Git, Bitbucket
