Role & responsibilities
1. Design & Development
- Responsible for creating robust design, ensuring proper packaging of the product. Conceptualize, design, and develop packaging solutions for products across the companys portfolio.
- Responsible for designing as per production requirements. Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and durability requirements while being cost-effective and manufacturable.
- Responsible for creating CAD (2D and 3D) for the product, using CAD tools and design software to create 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Responsible for implementing the customer requirements.
- Responsible for catering challenges faced during the development of products in company portfolio.
2. Stakeholder Management
- Responsible for aligning with the program team to ensure the development of the product as per the timeline.
- Responsible for communicating with the suppliers for the development of BOP (Bought-out parts).
- Responsible for communicating with the customer for the exchange of information.
- Responsible for communicating with the internal team during the development phase.
3. Requirement Gathering & Analysis
- Review and interpret customer requirements, product specifications, and regulatory standards related to packaging design.
- Translate requirements into explicit technical design inputs for development.
- Identify potential gaps or conflicts in requirements and recommend solutions.
4. Vehicle Integration & Compatibility
- Ensure packaging designs are optimized for integration within the overall vehicle structure.
- Address constraints related to space, ergonomics, accessibility, serviceability, and safety during integration.
5. Design Validation & Compliance
- Develop and implement the Design Validation Plan (DVP) to verify that packaging designs meet performance criteria.
- Support design reviews, tolerance checks, and simulations to validate functionality and robustness.
