TypingWale — Learn While You Type is India’s dedicated typing exam preparation platform for government job aspirants.

We’re building a platform that helps candidates prepare for the typing and computer proficiency tests conducted by SSC, Railways, High Courts, State PSCs, Central PSUs, and other government organisations.

We support Hindi, English, and Marathi typing, including configurations such as Kruti Dev 010, Mangal Inscript, and Mangal Remington GAIL.

Our goal is easy: make accurate, exam-specific typing preparation accessible to every government job aspirant in India.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Hindi / Devanagari Typing Engine Developer to join our small engineering team.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work directly on the core systems behind our typing experience:
- Typing and keyboard engines
- Devanagari text processing
- Text comparison and error detection
- Exam-specific scoring
- Keyboard layout handling
- Exam-rule configuration and validation

Requirements
- Experience building or maintaining Hindi typing software,



such as Soni Typing Tutor, Sonma, Speedo, TypeExam, Shiv Typing, Typing Baba, or similar software — or experience shipping a Devanagari typing engine elsewhere
- Strong practical knowledge of at least one Hindi typing layout: Remington GAIL, Remington CBI, Mangal Inscript, Kruti Dev / DevLys
- Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript
- Comfortable working with text processing, Unicode normalization, grapheme clusters, and character composition
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and take ownership of a feature or system end to end
- Understanding of how government typing exams calculate speed, accuracy, errors, penalties, and final scores is a strong plus

Nice to Have
- You have taught Hindi typing or worked at a typing institute
- You have prepared candidates for government typing exams
- You have experience with multiple Hindi keyboard layouts
- You’ve worked with legacy Hindi enc
