Job description

The Project Manager oversees and manages mechanical design and engineering projects from concept to completion within an office workplace. This role focuses on planning, coordination, design review, documentation control, team leadership, and communication. The Project Manager ensures that all engineering deliverables meet quality standards, project timelines, and client expectations while coordinating closely with internal design teams, management, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination

· Develop complete project plans, engineering schedules, and resource allocation strategies.

· Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with client and management requirements.

· Conduct feasibility assessments, risk evaluations, and technical planning before project start.

· Prepare and monitor work breakdown structures (WBS) and detailed engineering timelines.

2. Team Leadership & Management





· Lead and manage office-based mechanical design teams (design engineers, CAD engineers, draftsmen).

· Assign tasks according to skillsets, evaluate performance, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

· Conduct regular coordination meetings, guide team members technically, and resolve internal issues.

· Mentor junior engineers and support their technical and professional development.

3. Technical & Engineering Responsibilities

· Review and approve mechanical designs, CAD models, drawings, specifications, and calculations.

· Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with industry codes, standards, and project requirements.

· Coordinate with design, R&D;, quality, and manufacturing teams for technical alignment.

· Provide engineering solutions for design challenges and ensure accuracy of documentation.

· Oversee design optimization, system integration, and technical detailing.
