Purpose/Objective

To ensure the safe storage, handling, accounting, and issuance of explosives and detonators from the explosives magazine during the assigned shift, in compliance with statutory requirements under the Explosives Act, PESO regulations, and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Maintain proper stock records of explosives and detonators.
- Verify quantity and condition of explosives received from suppliers.
- Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) usage of explosives.
Magazine Operations - Ensure proper upkeep, housekeeping, and security of the explosives magazine.
- Monitor storage conditions such as temperature, ventilation, and moisture control.
- Conduct regular inspections of magazine premises, fencing, locks, and security arrangements.
- Report any damage, shortages,



or irregularities immediately.
Safety & Compliance - Ensure compliance with the Explosives Act, Explosives Rules, PESO guidelines, DGMS regulations, and company SOPs.
- Maintain statutory records and registers related to explosive storage and consumption.
- Facilitate inspections by regulatory authorities and auditors.
- Ensure secure handling and transportation of explosives from the magazine to blasting sites.
Documentation & Reporting - Maintain daily stock registers, issue records, and reconciliation reports.
- Prepare shift-wise inventory reports and explosive consumption statements.
- Record and investigate discrepancies in stock, if any.
- Submit reports to the Blasting In-Charge and Mine Manager.
Coordination - Coordinate with blasting teams for explosive requirements.
- Liaise with stores, security, and logistics teams for receipt and movement of explosive materials.
