1. Incoming Material Inspection
- Inspect incoming raw materials such as metal sheets, coils, tinplate, aluminium, inks, coatings, chemicals, and other packaging materials.
- Verify material specifications, dimensions, thickness, surface condition, colour, and quantity against approved specifications.
- Review and maintain inspection reports and supplier certificates.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming incoming materials.
2. In-Process Quality Inspection
- Perform inspection at various stages of production such as:
- Sheet feeding and printing
- Coating / varnishing
- Slitting
- Cutting and shearing
- Stamping / forming
- Body making
- Seaming
- Welding
- Assembly
- Finishing
- Check critical parameters according to approved specifications and control plans.
- Monitor first-piece approval and periodic inspection during production.
- Ensure proper line clearance and identification of approved/rejected materials.
3. Dimensional & Visual Inspection
- Check product dimensions using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring tapes.
- Inspect for dents, scratches, cracks, burrs, rust, coating defects, printing defects, colour variation, contamination, and deformation.
- Verify printing registration, artwork, text, barcode, colour, and other customer-specific requirements.
- Inspect container/body dimensions, seam quality, closures, lids, and other critical features.
4. Testing & Quality Checks
- Conduct applicable tests such as:
- Coating thickness
- Adhesion test
- Hardness / surface checks
- Seam inspection
- Leak testing
- Torque / closure checks, where applicable
- Print and colour verification
- Weight and thickness checks
- Record test results accurately and report deviations immediately.
5. Finished Product Inspection
- Inspect finished products according to approved inspection standards and sampling plans.
