Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Database Engineer role based in Gujarat, India. The Database Engineer will design, implement, and maintain databases that support the foundation’s archival, research, and programmatic activities. Typical responsibilities include modeling data structures for visual arts archives, configuring and optimizing database systems, and ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.



The role involves developing and maintaining data ingestion pipelines, managing backups and recovery, and creating tools or queries to enable easy access to archival and program data for internal teams. The Database Engineer will collaborate with archivists, program managers, and technical partners to translate organizational needs into robust, scalable database solutions and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in relational database design and management (e.g., SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience with data modeling for complex archival or content systems.
- Hands-on experience with database performance optimization, indexing, query tuning, and monitoring tools to ensure reliable and productive systems.
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL processes, including importing, cleaning, and structuring data from diverse sources and formats.
- Understanding of data security, backup, and recovery
