Creative (CoE)team supports Aon business units across geographies with research, analytics, marketing, proposal support and operational support to client delivery. Its mission is to provide Aon sales, marketing and strategy teams with the information, analysis and insight necessary to make informed decisions across business development, client delivery and strategy
General description of role:
The Associate Creative Director, Global Capability Center, is a new leadership role responsible for elevating creative quality, strengthening brand consistency, and scaling contemporary design practices across Marketing and Communications worldwide. The role partners closely with the Global Chief Creative Officer, Associate Creative Directors, Global Creative, account management, regional teams, and GCC stakeholders to deliver cohesive, high-impact creative work at scale while enabling smart localization across markets.
Job responsibilities:
Creative Leadership & Brand Governance:
- Own and drive adoption of the visual design system within the GCC, ensuring assets meet brand standards across digital, social, email, video, events, print, and other channels.
- Lead global brand experiences by delivering cohesive, high-impact design at scale while enabling effective localization for regions and markets.
- Review and approve creative deliverables to uphold quality, usability, accessibility, and brand consistency.
Team Leadership & Talent Development:
- Build, mentor, and develop the GCC design team by setting a high bar for craft, providing clear feedback, and creating a collaborative, innovative culture.
- Coach designers and creative contributors to strengthen capability, consistency,
and confidence across disciplines.
- Promote modern design practices, shared standards, and effective ways of working across a distributed global team.
Stakeholder Partnership & Creative Delivery:
- Partner with Global Creative, account management, marketing, content, technology, and regional teams to prioritize work, strengthen governance, and improve scalability.
- Oversee end-to-end creative delivery from concept through final execution, ensuring work is on brief, on message, and delivered on time.
- Provide direction and feedback to internal teams and external partners, supporting vendor or agency management as needed.
- Partner closely with account leadership to ensure smooth handoffs, clear expectations, and effective delivery management.
Innovation, Tools & Continuous Improvement:
- Champion modern ways of working by introducing tools, templates, training, and AI-enabled workflow improvements that increase speed, quality, and personalization.
- Help develop, test, and scale guidelines and innovation initiatives across the creative network.
- Support the Global Chief Creative Officer with concepts, presentations, leadership coverage, and proxy support when required.
- Remain hands-on when needed, applying strong print and digital production skills to solve design challenges and support high-priority work.
Skills/competencies required:
- Strong expertise in visual design, brand systems, design governance, and creative production across print and digital channels.
- Proficiency with the full Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Firefly, and Adobe Express.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with AI production tools and content delivery for translated or international audiences is a plus.
- Experience or appreciation in illustration, animation, and motion design is a plus.
- Experience in environmental or experiential brand initiatives is desired but not required.
- Proven people leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to set standards, give clear feedback, and grow talent.
- Excellent cross-functional partnership skills, with comfort working across account management, marketing collaborators, creative teams, and regional teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and articulate design decisions effectively.
- Ability to operate quickly and calmly within a large, complex, and dynamic environment while setting and maintaining key priorities.
- Self-starter who stays current with the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in building and is comfortable working with a remote group of colleagues.
- Graduate in a design-related field such as graphic design.
- 20+ years of design experience.
- Experience in a creative visual design leadership role corporate in-house experience is highly regarded.
- Experience working within a project management tool is critical.
- Experience building, managing, or scaling a visual design system, including guidelines, templates, and toolkits across teams.
- Desire to work collaboratively with the Global Creative team across multiple time zones shift work may be required.
- English fluency required, both written and spoken.
- Portfolio required to be considered projects must be representative of work completed by the candidate directly, rather than solely in a team setting.
