Purpose of the position The 2D Detailer-Checker is responsible for reviewing 2D Marking Plans and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) received from the 2D Detailers to identify all errors requiring correction, prior to submission to the ATS Australia Team. The 2D Detailer-Checker is also responsible for executing 2D detailing tasks that are received from 3D Modellers for Ausreo Constructions Solutions projects. The 2D Detailer-Checker will utilise specialised skills and knowledge to review and develop steel reinforcement detailing plans, using specific 2D detailing software including AutoCAD, to ensure the productive and timely delivery of error free 2D steel reinforcement detailing solutions. In consultation with 3D Modellers and the Project Coordinator, the 2D Detailer-Checker will ensure 2D Marking Plans and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) are developed in accordance with 3D models, customers approved specifications and structural and architectural drawings to produce works schedules ready for manufacture and delivery.
Detailing Prepare 2D Marking Plans by capturing all details available on 3D models, maintaining design standard and production requirements as per Australian Standards. Interpret 2D Marking Plans with structural and architectural drawings for preparation of the Bar Bending Schedules (BBS). Apply existing industry and structural knowledge during discussions with Project Coordinators and 3D Modellers to produce 2D Marking Plans and BBS. Transfer customer information within ATS 2D Detailing Team including specifications, dimensions, delivery and production work schedules, to ensure the timely and error free completion of all project detailing tasks. Establish and maintain a high degree of quality awareness, resulting in delivery of products and services of high quality.
Ensure all customer information gaps and project queries are captured on RFIs to enable Project Coordinators to raise RFI requests with the Clients in a timely manner. Validate 3D Models/2D Marking Plans with all RFI responses received from Clients. Identify and report clashes to 3D Modellers and Project Coordinators wherever applicable.
Checking Identify all errors requiring correction on 2D Marking Plans and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) received from the 2D Detailers, maintaining design standard and production requirements as per Australian Standards. Ensure that the 2D Marking Plans capture all required detailing information from the 3D models. Ensure that the 2D Marking Plans match the structural and architectural requirements for preparing the BBS. Accurately maintain the Error Log by capturing all errors identified in the checking process, escalating repeated errors to Project Coordinators for immediate rectification. Report repeated error trends to Project Managers and Project Coordinators to identify competency and process gaps that will require improvement actions. Maintain a high degree of quality awareness, resulting in delivery of products and services of high quality. Ensure all customer information gaps and project queries are captured on RFIs to enable Project Coordinators to raise RFI requests with the Clients in a timely manner. Validate 3D Models/2D Marking Plans with all RFI responses received from Clients. Identify and report clashes to 3D Modellers and Project Coordinators wherever applicable.
Experience-
Education
High School Education.
Civil/Structural Engineering Diploma or Degree.
Prior experience in other positions
2D Detailer with experience using other Reinforcement Detailing Software (2-8 years 2D detailing
experience).
Associate Team Lead role in a Detailing organisation.
