Homecare Assistant Roles & Responsibilities

- Assist the patient with daily personal care and hygiene.
- Support bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
- Assist with feeding and adequate fluid intake.
- Help the patient with mobility, walking and transferring from bed to chair.
- Change the patient’s position regularly to maintain comfort.
- Monitor basic health parameters such as temperature, pulse, BP and SpO₂, as instructed.
- Assist with prescribed medications as per family/doctor’s instructions and company protocol.
- Maintain patient cleanliness and a safe, hygienic workplace.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to the patient.
- Observe the patient’s condition and immediately report any unusual changes to the family/supervisor.
- Maintain proper handover and update the next staff regarding the patient’s condition and care provided.
