A Facade Project Manager oversees the end-to-end engineering, planning, procurement, and installation of building envelope systems—such as curtain walls, glazing, and cladding—ensuring projects finish on time, within budget, and to strict quality and safety standards. [1, 2, 3]
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Manage full lifecycle delivery of unitized/stick curtain walls, structural glazing, ACP cladding, louvers, and skylights. [1, 2]
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise daily with architects, structural consultants, main contractors, and clients to resolve design and site discrepancies. [1]
- Technical Submissions: Review and track shop drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), material submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs). [1]
- Quality & Testing: Oversee mock-up assemblies and mandatory performance tests like water and air infiltration checks. [1, 2]
- Site Supervision: Monitor installation progress, manage on-site subcontractors, and ensure strict compliance with health and safety protocols. [1, 2, 3]
- Commercial Control: Track project budgets, analyze material consumption, handle variation orders, and support final project handover and billing. [1, 2]
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture.
- Experience: 5 to 12 years of total industry experience, with a solid focus on facade engineering, building envelopes, or architectural glazing execution.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera, MS Office Suite, and basic CAD or PDF markup software (e.g., Bluebeam). [1, 2, 3]
Core Competencies & Skills
- Deep knowledge of facade physics, anchoring systems, and material properties (aluminum, glass, steel, sealants).
- Solid scheduling, cost control, and contract management capability.
