About the Opportunity

We are a growing Pan-India restaurant chain specialising in Italian cuisine, with a strong focus on gourmet New York-style pizzas. We're looking for an energetic, polished and guest-focused Restaurant Captain to join our team at our Mohali outlet.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day floor operations during assigned shifts and ensure smooth service.

- Welcome and interact with guests professionally and create a warm, friendly dining experience.

- Coordinate between guests, stewards/servers, kitchen, bar and management.

- Allocate tables and sections to service staff and supervise the team during service.

- Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure correct POS/KOT punching.

- Maintain proper sequence of service — greeting, seating, order taking, food service, table maintenance, billing and farewell.

- Have strong knowledge of the menu, ingredients, accompaniments, portion sizes and preparation styles.

- Understand common food allergens and dietary preferences and communicate guest requirements correctly to the kitchen.

- Recommend dishes and beverages confidently and use appropriate upselling and suggestive-selling techniques.

- Monitor order timing and coordinate with the kitchen to minimise delays.

- Check food presentation and order accuracy before dishes reach guests wherever applicable.

- Handle guest requests, feedback and complaints calmly and professionally and escalate issues to management when required.

- Supervise mise-en-place, opening and closing procedures, table setup and service-station readiness.

- Ensure restaurant SOPs, hygiene, sanitation, grooming and food-safety standards are consistently followed.





- Assist with billing, settlements and resolving basic billing/POS discrepancies.

- Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate reservations, specials, unavailable items and important guest information to the team.

- Support the Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager with daily operations and team coordination.

- Help train and guide junior stewards/servers and maintain strong service discipline on the floor.

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience as a Restaurant Captain / Senior Steward / F&B; Service Associate in a good-quality restaurant, café, hotel or established F&B; brand.

- Strong understanding of restaurant floor operations and F&B; service standards.

- Comfortable working with POS and KOT systems.

- Good knowledge of table service, guest handling and restaurant etiquette.

- Experience with Italian cuisine, pizzas or premium casual dining is an advantage.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Confident, presentable and well-groomed.

- Ability to lead a small floor team while remaining hands-on during busy service periods.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, including weekends, evenings and holidays as per the roster.

- A positive attitude, reliability and a genuine interest in hospitality are important to us.
