Finance & Compliance Associate

About the Role

One of our clients is looking for a Finance & Compliance Associate to own their day-to-day financial operations. You'll run the monthly close, manage reconciliations, keep our statutory compliance airtight (GST, TDS, ROC), and produce the financial data our Finance Controller relies on to make decisions. This is a hands-on, high-trust role for someone who takes pride in clean books and never misses a deadline.

What You'll Do

- Own the monthly close journal entries, employee advances, expense reimbursements, accruals, and daily bank reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Drive statutory compliance GST workings & input credit reconciliation, TDS workings & challans, ROC filings, and the compliance/payment calendar
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts in Zoho Books
- Produce the financial reports and data the Finance Controller needs to run the business
- Support audits gather evidence and reconcile balances for statutory and SOC 2 audits
- Own SOC 2 compliance for finance preventative due diligence, asset audits, and keeping policy docs current, in partnership with the Finance Controller

What This Role Is Not

- Financial strategy or FP&A; / budgeting decisions (Finance Controller scope)
- Payroll processing (People Ops scope)
- Investment or treasury decisions (CEO / Finance Controller scope)

Must-Haves

- Solid grip on accounting fundamentals: double-entry, reconciliations,



accruals, and the close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software — Zoho Books, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar
- Working knowledge of Indian statutory compliance: GST, TDS, and ROC filings
- Sharp attention to detail — reconciliation errors aren't something you let slide
- A track record of producing clean, accurate financial reports, on time, every time

Good to Have

- Prior experience in a SaaS or quick-growing startup environment
- Exposure to SOC 2 or other compliance/audit frameworks
- Experience supporting statutory or external audits
- An eye for process improvement — you've streamlined a close or compliance workflow before
