We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer with a strong background in financial markets and application production support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting Java/J2EE applications, databases, Unix/Linux environments, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and trading/order management platforms.

The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication with business stakeholders, and the ability to work effectively in a global 24x7 follow-the-sun support model.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide L2/L3 application support for critical financial market and trading applications.
- Monitor applications, investigate incidents, identify root causes, and drive issues through to resolution.
- Work closely with business users, technology teams, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors to resolve production issues.
- Translate technical issues and solutions into explicit business language for stakeholders.
- Perform deep technical analysis across applications, databases, operating systems, interfaces, and infrastructure.
- Support applications deployed across both cloud and on-premise environments.
- Monitor application health, alerts, and system performance and continuously improve monitoring and alerting capabilities.
- Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes in line with ITIL practices.




- Perform root-cause analysis and contribute to permanent fixes and problem management activities.
- Support application releases, deployments, configuration changes, and production implementation activities.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with global support teams in a follow-the-sun operating model.
- Provide weekend, public holiday, and out-of-hours support as part of a rotational roster.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve system stability, operational efficiency, and support processes.

Required Skills & Experience

Financial Markets

- Minimum 3 years of application support experience, preferably within financial markets.
- Strong understanding of Futures & Options, equities, derivatives, and trading processes.
- Knowledge of order management platforms and trading business processes.
- Understanding of financial market applications and their operational dependencies will be highly advantageous.

Technical Skills

- Strong experience with Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience supporting applications running on Java/J2EE.
- Strong SQL skills and database troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with one or more of the following databases:

- Sybase
- Oracle
- PostgreSQL
- Microsoft SQL Server

- Experience supporting applications across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts.
